Europe, let’s come together!: Research suggests that European families have fewer children than they would like to have. This is occuring at the same time that the sustainability of European economic structures (such as pensions and unemployment) is threatened due to the aging of population. Should the EU engage in efforts to realize this desire for larger families , and if so, how can the EU support families to have more children, while still respecting the autonomy and independence of individuals and families to choose alternate paths and family structures?
